Surrey CC's Direct Payments strategy has made a commitment to explore whether an Individual Service Fund (ISF) offer should be developed in Surrey. Your feedback is crucial in this process, as we would like to understand whether you would be interested in receiving your personal budget through an ISF. Your views will help shape the future of care and support services in Surrey.

Carers Consultation: Changes to Direct Payments

Surrey CC’s Direct Payments strategy has made a commitment to exploring whether an Individual Service Fund (ISF) offer should be developed in Surrey. Your feedback is crucial in this process, as we would like to understand whether you would be interested in receiving your personal budget through an ISF. Your views will help shape the future of care and support services in Surrey.

What is the purpose of the research?

To find out the views of people in Surrey about ISFs.  This will help Surrey County Council determine whether an Individual Service Fund (ISF) offer should be developed in Surrey.

The Researcher would like to invite people who draw on care and support themselves as well as the people around them – including unpaid carers – to join an online workshop to talk about ISFs.

The three key questions we would like to explore are:

  1. Would you be interested in an ISF as a way to arrange care and support?
  2. What would encourage you to take up an ISF?
  3. What would put you off taking up an ISF?

Who should take part in the research workshop?

We would particularly like to speak to people who would benefit from the flexibility of a Direct Payment, but who are put off a Direct Payment because of the management responsibilities and people who currently have Direct Payments but are considering reverting back to the Council commissioning services directly because of the responsibilities of managing it.  However, we welcome the views of anyone in Surrey who is drawing on care and support themselves and the people around them, including unpaid carers.

This will be a video meet up using Zoom and is open to all our registered carers although spaces are limited.

If you’ve not used Zoom before, we have a handy guide below which will talk you through it.

What will happen to my data?

Workshop conversations will focus on the three key research questions detailed above.

We will ask you to introduce yourselves to each other but we will not ask you to share personal or sensitive details about you or your own care and support.

We will feed back your views to Surrey County Council but your name will not be included anywhere in the final report.

Taking part in the workshop will not affect how you currently draw on care and support.

What is the format of the workshop?

The workshops will take place online over Zoom Action For Carers. If you would like to join us please register below.
